Basically Ekee is the Linux counterpart of LaTexIt on mac. You could type an equation on the fly and generate png/pdf files for it, then paste it on docs/presentations.
Installation on ubuntu:
- sudo aptitude update
- sudo aptitude install dvipng
- sudo aptitude install libqt4-ruby
- sudo aptitude install pstoedit
- sudo aptitude install texlive-extra-utils
- Download the deb file from ekee_2.0.2-1_all.deb
- sudo dpkg -i ekee_2.0.2-1_all.deb
